Silver ForK Vineyard & Winery
Silver Fork Winery’s beautiful tasting room and vineyards provide breathtaking views of the South Mountains. The rustic elegance of the tasting room melts into the open patio providing ample room for guests and live music. The Stockwild Kitchen food truck on site provides locally-sourced snacks.
Whippoorwill Farm
Fonta Flora’s farmhouse brewery sits on 9 acres of gorgeous pastureland surrounded by Lake James State Park and nestled under the backdrop of the Linville Gorge. Indoor and outdoor spaces make the farmhouse perfect for any season. A food truck and pizza oven on site provide food options for patrons.
Homer’s Soda Shop
Homer’s is a cocktail and raw oyster bar with dinner and snacks featuring local and gourmet ingredients. Located in the heart of downtown Morganton, NC, it is a quick 10-minute drive from the Catawba River Club.
Lake James
At the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains not far from the charming towns of Morganton and Marion in Western North Carolina lies Lake James, a pristine lake fed by three rivers. The lake is surrounded by ancient forest with over 6,500 surface acres and 150 miles of shoreline. Lake James State Park offers a public beach for swimming, plus picnic areas, canoe rentals, rest rooms and nature trails. Camping facilities are also available.

Linville Gorge
The Linville Gorge is one of Eastern America’s most scenic destinations. Named for William Linville, a local explorer, the 12,000 acre Linville Gorge Wilderness Area and its virgin forests are part of the Pisgah National Forest. Some of western North Carolina’s most remarkable landmarks reside in the gorge, including Linville Falls, Table Rock Mountain, Shortoff and Hawksbill Mountains, the Chimneys and Sitting Bear. The views of and from these mountains are breathtaking. Hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing in the gorge can be challenging since elevations range from 1,300 feet on the Linville River to 4,120 feet on Gingercake Mountain. 39 miles of trails weave throughout Linville Gorge and make for a variety of adventures like backpacking and camping.
